Betty Sue

43 years ago today, my Grandparents, Betty Sue and Jimmy Yeiser and another wonderful couple, died tragically in a plane crash. It hurts my heart for the children they left behind way too soon. And although, I didn’t get the chance to meet them, I’ve heard so many wonderful stories over the years. There is definitely a void in my heart for what it would have been like to experience their Grandparent-love. What would their hugs feel like? What did their laughs sound like? What stories would they tell? Yesterday I thought about what I might find if I snuck through Betty Sue’s jewelry box. I decided to make a little something to honor her. When I think of that era, I picture pearls, diamonds, gold, and milky white opaque beads, so I incorporated all of them. The white opaque focal beads that I used on the main bracelet are from vintage necklaces I’ve come across over the years. I imagine some of the elements I’ve incorporated could be found on a lovely little tray on Betty Sue’s bedside table. For me, this is a piece made for what might have been, but for you it might be a reminder of what used to be.

*I am selling a limited quantity of the main bracelet that feature the vintage focal beads {crystal and pearl}.
